Telmak Teleproducts was a prominent Australian television-marketing, record and general-merchandise company during the 1980s. Established in 1980 by a consortium of 15 regional television companies, its record operation commenced in January 1981 under Chief executive David Hammer, former general manager of K-tel's product division. Les Hodge, a former EMI (Australia) A&R and product manager, served as Telmak's general manager and helped oversee its recording, licensing and marketing activities. With strong shareholdings held by major Australian television stations, Telmak enjoyed extensive access to advertising airtime and quickly became a serious competitor in the highly visible—and often "loud and cheesy"—television-marketing industry.
Only one Beatles LP was released in Australia through Telmak; a reissue of the Star-Club recordings in 1982 titled Historic Sessions.
